The difference between Turkish picnics

The difference between Turkish picnics

Traveling in the Republic of Turkey, you can recognize the locals having a picnic by one characteristic detail. It should be said that outdoor recreation is not a new thing for Turks, but it used to be called country walks or “chayırbasti”, literally “walks in the meadows”, or “teferryuje”, which can be translated as “rest”, rather than the now fashionable word “picnic”. Vacationers spent their fun near the water, moving into the shade when it got very hot. This popular tradition has survived to this day. Only now locals want to rest comfortably taking with them on vacation folding chairs. Going on vacation, they are sure to take with them chairs that fold out and enjoy nature in comfort by the water. Golden rays of the sun, green grass, azure waves and a Turk sitting on a folding chair, as at home on the sofa. Guests coming to the country are initially surprised, and then get used to this picture so much that they simply do not notice and perceive as something natural (the noise of the wind or waves). And it does not matter where a resident of Turkey goes on vacation, he feels equally comfortable sitting in a park, on the side of the road or on a hill, the main thing is that the view is beautiful and it was comfortable to sit.
