The Mayor of Sorrento has signed a special resolution. The justification for this step was the dissatisfaction of citizens with the indecent behavior of holidaymakers. The mayor believes that the discrepancy between clothing and reality makes life uncomfortable for residents and is one of the reasons negatively affecting the image of the city, as well as low quality of life, which in turn can greatly affect the flow of tourists to Sorrento. Massimo Coppola said that the priority to improve life in the municipality is to improve the environment and eliminate indecent behavior that degrades the quality of life of its residents.
But it is not clear why the fines vary from 20 to 500 euros for the same misdemeanor. It probably depends on the number of violations, and how obscene the guardians consider the appearance of the violator.
