Chora is “Little Venice” with an unusual symbol – a pelican, located in the south of the Aegean Sea. Tourist infrastructure is well developed. Here travelers are waiting for a lot of hotels for all tastes and wallets. It is possible to rent a car or ATV to move around during the holidays.
On the island, guests can admire the many small churches, so comfortably fit into the maze of narrow streets. There are taverns with amazing Cretan food, and numerous jewelry and souvenir stores. From the top of the hill on which the town and Greece’s best beach, Milopotos, you have a breathtaking view of the surrounding area.
In Chora there is a constant buzz of “night life”: discos, bars, nightclubs. Travellers tired of the endless fun and beaches, can visit the Ethnographic Archaeological Museum, the library of Keris, the ancient Frankish castle Kato and outdoor theater.
To admire the many windmills can visit the Lassithi Plateau, a wonderful fertile valley with endless plantations of vegetables and fragrant gardens. It is called the “Valley of a Thousand Mills”.
