Annecy is an incredible combination of great nature, civilization and service. The city is located on the shores of the cleanest lake. It attracts tourists not only with its crystal waters and well-maintained beaches but also with its historical monuments. Annecy is “city of arts”, was founded in the ninth century. Until now the river Tioux with its canals, narrow streets and covered galleries astonishes with its splendor, and the city park, laid out along the canal Vasse with mountain peaks over the lake shore by right, is called the Gardens of Europe. Here you can go boating, catamarans and water skiing, walk along the Bridge of lovers, admire the castle of Ile, visit located in the castle: a museum, palace chapel and an exhibition that tells about the architecture and history of Annecy. Annecy is worth visiting: the Palais de Lille, Annecy Castle, the Church of St. Francis of Salz, St. Peter’s Cathedral and the Church of St. Maurice. There are many other monuments in the city.
Annecy is a gourmet paradise. Here you can taste more than 200 kinds of cheese. For lovers of sweets there is a whole store of the famous French confectioner Philippe Rigollo, located in the Old Town. You can enjoy the most delicious pasta and pizza in any cafe.
