Due to natural disasters that destroyed parts of Turkey and Syria, Turkish authorities declared a state of emergency in the country. However, according to statements published in the British media, visiting southern and western Turkey in the near future is not dangerous. The statements expressed condolences and support for the victims of the earthquakes in Gaziantep, Kahramanmaras. The tremors happened 800 kilometers away from Antalya. The Turkish authorities opened all out-of-season hotels for the victims of this disaster, but now, according to British tour operators, all travelers to Turkey with reservations are free to use them without any risk. The statements also say that after the main shocks, followed by a few more, but less destructive travelers should refrain from visiting the province of Gazentep and heed the recommendations of the accompanying tour.
